19 Dec Thanks to South Taranaki school road patrol students
Roadsafe Taranaki and the NZ Police played host to 140 road patrol students from around South Taranaki on Tuesday 12 December 2017. As a way of saying thank you to the students that have stood outside in rain, hail and shine all year doing road patrol, the students were rewarded with a couple of treats. Students from outside Hawera were bussed into Hawera where they joined local students to watch The Son of Bigfoot at Hawera Cinema 2. After the movie Pickering Motors bussed students over to the Hawera Aquatic Centre where Silver Fern Farms had generously donated sausages, steak and provided their BBQ trailer with three staff members to cook the sausages and steak for the students and their supervisors.
The schools that attended enjoyed their day and considering these students are on duty every school day throughout the year, we appreciate the time they give up to keep other children safe every morning and afternoon.
